Application security, unique to other forms of information security, focuses on the security and interactions of applications with users. Most security focuses on observability or firewalling assets from exterior threat actors. In application security focuses on protecting the application and data directly from bad-actors who are attempting to compromise the system through the application’s externally facing systems.

This series will focus on the application security practices, tools, and techniques that are used to secure applications from bad actors.
